All of a sudden I turn 50 and my near vision starts to get blurry! They call it MYOPIA when you can see things clearly that are up close and SUPEROPIA when you see things clearly that are far away. Maybe that's what old age is about! When we're young we look at the world in relation to ourselves (up close & selfish), but when we get older our eyes shift to a much bigger world that is way beyond us. That's what God is doing in my life. He's causing me to see a huge world way beyond my own personal needs that is desperately in need of a Savior. He's calling me to trust Him for things that are way too big for me to handle (John 15:5). And He's calling me to motivate other "older saints" to get their focus on things eternal. Now is NOT the time to slow down and do less for God, it's the time to trust Him for greater things than ever before! I don't have the energy or memory I used to have but I have a vision for the future like never before. I'm asking God to work deeply in my heart so that I live only for things that are eternal and bring Him great glory. I'm praying for you too! Won't you join me in laying up treasures in heaven? Let's look with clear vision into the distance and fix our eyes on things above. Let's clearly see the finish line and run the race to win! NO RETIREMENT for the saints of God! Rise Up Old Men & Women Of God!

Paul, I have one thing to say about that - I'm with you! And the message you gave last Sunday was very motivating to keep working hard. Thanks for being an example to all of us!

How completely clear your words ring in my heart. For most of my life the emphasis has been to perform at a certain level so that I might garner His favor. I believe with all of my heart it's not about the routine I attempt to put forth, but the relationship I have with our Lord, and my commitment to do whatever He asks of me.
Barb and I enjoyed so much being at TBBF on the Sunday before Christmas...what a blessing!
